Ariane 1 and Ariane 5 rocket launchers

The two Ariane launchers displayed on the tarmac are original models on a 1:1 scale. True edifices, they required a building permit in order to be displayed to the public.

The structure of Ariane 1 comprises a single tube; Ariane 5 features a central part with two side propellers.

Fitted with light signals for planes, the museum’s life-size Ariane rockets are like two shining stars.

Visible within a radius of 25 km, Ariane 1 (used between 1979 and 1986) stands 48 metres high, while Ariane 5 (in service since 1996) is 54 metres tall.
